About Dany

My Story

Beaujolais Nouveau started me on my path to learning about and loving wine. I was just reaching the Canadian legal age for drinking and was completely fascinated by all the hype surrounding it -- waiting in line, before the stores opened on a cold, harsh November morning, to buy a bottle of wine.  Very cool! Once I tasted it, I wanted to learn more. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share it with others.

Now I teach the basics of wine tasting and truly love to share my experiences and introduce others to the joy of wine. It has taken me some time to pursue my passion. After a long and demanding career in the corporate world, applying my MBA in International Marketing to the recreational transportation and clean energy fields, I realized that I wanted to balance my professional life with my personal passion for wine. I am taking the time to enjoy life, and smell the roses (… or the wines!). I am a Certified Wine Specialist with a Pass with Distinction on my Level 3 Certification Exam from the respected Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London.

My French-Canadian heritage is long and rich. For my family and friends, food is almost a religion. We like cooking, experimenting with new recipes and talking about them over long, leisurely meals. Those long meals are always better when enjoyed with wine!

I always loved to travel to discover the world and see how people live, what they eat and drink, their secrets to long life, etc. I have traveled to 30 + countries…. I want to understand how people interact with their environment, and food and wine are essential to that.

I have tasted my fair share of French wines and I am a member of the French Wine Society. As I’ve visited other countries I’ve had the opportunity to taste and enjoy their delicious wines -- Chile, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, and of course France, USA and Canada. There is so much to learn about wines!

Cheers!
